A lifelong Arkansas native and Conway resident since 1984, Mark Cothren became fascinated with woodturning after seeing a friend create a bowl in 2005. Since then, he has grown rapidly as a woodturning artist, and has pieces on display in the Arkansas State Capitol and at the Historic Arkansas Museum. His work is also in many private collections around the country, including a bowl purchased personally by woodworking legend Sam Maloof. Despite his early success, Mark still considers himself a student of the craft, and is continually trying to learn and expand his range. |
He is truly humbled by the unique beauty God creates in each piece of wood, and is honored to be allowed to reveal and share that beauty with others. For more information on Mark's work, visit his website at: http://www.flyingcurls.com. |
