Mary Jane Turan was born and raised in
Yellville Arkansas and retired there after
30 years in the medical profession. She
lives on the same family property she was
raised on and treasures living in the
Arkansas mountains near lakes and
water. She raised two sons and did all the
things families do.

Hobbies and interests include painting,
sewing, quilts, photography, antiques (old
houses, barns, and collectibles), music,
opera, reading and would like to travel the
world with life long classmates who are all
still close friends.

Art instruction began in pastels and oils after assurance and encouragement from the
instructor, family and art friends. My mentor, Henry Ratliff, shared his knowledge and
vast art library further inspiring me. After her family, painting became the most enjoyable
activity in her life and remains so. She has been a member of the Palette Art League for
20 + years and is passionate about the "Gallery".
