Although born in Denver, Colorado,
Karen spent 48 years in Northern
California before retiring and moving to
Norfork, Arkansas with her husband
Don in late 2007.
Karen embraced a love of drawing
animals since childhood. She took
high school and some college art
courses, but is mostly a self taught
artist. In fulfilling her mother's request
for a horse portrait, Karen discovered
an affinity for colored pencils. This led
to Karen's first recognition for her
artwork at the Area Art Club Art show
in Mountain Home, awards from the
Bull Shoals Art Club and Stone
County Fair, and to her first
commissioned pet portrait.
Karen also works in pastels and watercolors. For more information on Karen's work or
to discuss a commissioned portrait of your favorite pet, e-mail: kajon@inreach.com.
