I have been interested in art as long as I can remember.
With a major in art, I received a B.S. in Education from SE
Missouri State in Cape Girardeau. Later, I completed a
Masters in Teaching with an emphasis on Aesthetics from
Webster University in St. Louis.
In St. Louis, I taught elementary and high school art for a
total of 20 years, and also in an after school gifted art
program for 9 years. In additional, I taught or took part in
numerous workshops in the St. Louis area.
My husband Wayne and I retired to Gamaliel, Arkansas in 2000. Since then, I have been active in local art clubs
and in 2010, served for a second time as President of Area Art Club. I am also currently President of Artists of
the Ozark, a member of Bull Shoals Art Club and Hill Country Art Gallery, and I was an Advisory Board Member
for the Cultural Arts Society.
I have been the recipient of many awards for my art, including Best of Show at Area Art Club's Annual Show in
both 2004 and 2007 and the Schliemann Award in 2004.
For the past 7 years, I have participated in an International Collage Exchange in New Zealand. Two of my
collages have been published in art books.
My life is "artful" as I participate in shows, exhibitions, teach workshops in painting and collage, and create in
my studio in Gamaliel, Arkansas.
