As a teen my friends and I walked
along the Arkansas River hunting
sparkling crystals and wading in the
shimmering waters. Allsopp Park
Bird Sanctuary was my backyard,
and I loved hearing the chirps of the
birds as I hiked through the rustling
leaves.
Painting some of the Arkansas
Nature Conservancy lands became
important to me as I began to hear of
"extinction" of our wildlife creatures.
