Michael Andrews of Harrison, Arkansas
will be exhibiting during the month of
September at the Palette Art League's
Fine Art Gallery, in the main gallery.

"Sometimes I think I was born drawing",
says, Michael Andrews, when asked
when he began drawing, "I don't
remember being without some kind of
pencil and paper in my hand." Micheal
Andrews, a lifelong resident of Harrison,
Arkansas, began his artistic career
after graduating high school by
attending the Kansas City Art Institute.
Andrews returned to Harrison to take a
job as the staff artists for a church
furniture company where Michael
designed the prayer chapel for the New
York World's Fair. Andrews did free
lance artwork for newspapers, print
shops, magazines and a theme park,
"Dogpatch U.S.A.", but it wasn't the type
of art he really wanted to do.

In 1984 Michael and wife Kay, turned
their attention to working together full
time creating fine art. Commissioned
work of portraits, paintings of the
working ranch cowboy and the culture of
the Ozarks became the subjects of his
artwork. In the beginning there was very
little understanding of the complexities
of the career they were attempting.
Michael Andrews had some knowledge
of the commitment it demanded but had
very little idea of how to best pursue it.
Andrews feels it was with God's grace,
hard work, a little luck and wife Kay's
support, that his artwork has come such
a long way.
