Three Generations of Art, featuring Jo Rowell, Vaughn Johnson and Dana
Johnson. The exhibit runs through January 31, 2010. Admission is free. Exhibit
is open Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Thursday - Saturday from 1:00
p.m. - 4:00 p.m. through the month of January.

June 2010

The official release date of the Art & Artisans of the Ozarks, Presented by the
Palette Art League with a big gala celebration and book signing in the gallery
by the featured artists in the book. Watch for more information and dates!

Greater Cotter Trout Festival Friday June 18th and Saturday June 19th, 2010 at
Big Spring Park, Cotter, Arkansas. Come visit the Palette Art League booth
offering face painting and art work.

June 15th, The Portrait painting class will be taught by Dan Harris,
professional artist and member of PAL. Working in oil/acrylics as preferred
mediums each session will begin with a short lecture followed by one on one
instruction. Classes will begin Tuesday, June 15, 5:00 to 7:00pm. The
workshop is a six week session at a cost of $50.00 per student. Pre-registration
is required, by contacting the Palette Art League at 870-405-6316 or visiting the
P.A.L.'s Fine Art Gallery.

The Art & Artisans of the Ozarks book signing Gala. The public is welcome.
The event is FREE to the public.
Date: July 31, 2010
Time: 4pm - 7 pm
Location: The Palette Art League gallery located at 300 Hwy 62 W, Yellville,
Arkansas (next door to the Dollar Store). We will have at least a dozen artists
in the book in attendance to do a book signing, there is a drawing for one of
Les Casteel's fabulous wood creations and we will be honoring one of the
founders of the Palette Art League, Jo Rowell. All of Jo's students from the
past 50 years are encouraged to attend.

August 2010

For the entire month of August, there will be a dual art exhibit featuring the
work of Beth Ivens and her daughter Heather Ivens. Both artists are featured
in the new Art & Artisans of the Ozarks book and there will be a reception
held on August 7th with both artists in attendance.

The Featured artist for the month of August is Sandy Barksdale.

August 14th, Saturday. Book Signing at Keel's Creek Winery in Eureka
Springs. The public is invited and we expect to have at least 18 of the artists
in The Art & Artisans of the Ozarks book at the event to sign your books!
Location: Keel's Creek Winery, 3185 East Van Buren, Eureka Springs, AR
72632 from 4p.m. - 7p.m.

August 18 and 19; Plein Air Workshop. Plein air is a term derived from the
French phrase en plein air, which literally means 'in the open air'. It's a
familiar concept today, but in the late 1800s when the Impressionists ventured
out of their studios into nature to investigate and capture the effects of
sunlight and different times of days on a subject, it was quite revolutionary.
Local artist, Dana Johnson will offer instruction in plein air painting on Aug 18
and 19, 10am to 12 noon. Class will be offered on beginner to intermediate
levels; Supplies needed: medium of student's choice, such as acrylics,
oil,pastels or watercolor. Paintings will be done on small canvas or paper not
to exceed 12x16. Cost of the workshop is $20.00.

August 23 - September; Basic Drawing Workshop;
Basic drawing class will begin Monday, August 23, 1pm to 3pm and will
continue for four weeks. The class will focus on increasing drawing skill form
real life and the individual needs of each student in basic drawing contour
shapes, perspective and shading values. Supplies needed are: vine charcoal,
kneaded eraser, art gum eraser, charcoal drawing tablet 12x18 and fixative.
The cost of the class will be $15.00 each week.

August 26 - September; Portrait Workshop;
Dan Harris, a local professional artist, will offer instruction in portrait painting.
The workshop, beginning Thursday, August 26, 5 to 7 pm., cost $50.00 for a six
week session. Students will work with live models each week under the
direction of Harris. Students may work in preferred medium, oil, acrylics,
pastel, or charcoal and should bring all necessary supplies for chosen
medium. Each student will receive individual instruction during class. Seating
is limited; a non refundable deposit of $20.00 is required.

Our Featured artist is MJ Turan and we are showcasing the work in the main
gallery of Michael Andrews for the entire month of September. Both artists
