Dorothy Anderson was born December
21, 1941 in Georgetown, Texas.
Dorothy moved to Arkansas some 30
years ago when her husband Bobby
retired from the Army after 20 years of
service. They had traveled the United
States and Europe and decided the
Ozarks was where they wanted to
settle.

Dorothy has always been interested in
art. After her children were grown,
Dorothy started taking lessons from Jo
Rowell and a couple of years ago she
went to North Arkansas College in
Harrison, Arkansas where she took art
classes and creative writing.
Dorothy likes all mediums of art: oils, pastels, pen and ink, and pencils. Some more so
than others but still her favorite is pencil and colored pencils. She is always learning new
art forms whether on canvas, paper, cloth, or wood.

Along with her art, Dorothy likes writing. She completed a course of study with the Long
Ridge Writer's Group. She hopes to write and illustrate her own books for children
someday.

Dorothy is Secretary of the Marion County Extension Club,
Vice President of Brown Church EHC,
member of the Marion County Christian Women Club,
Secretary of the Palette Art League, and
President elect of the Crooked Creek Quilter's Guild.

Dorothy enjoys woodcarving on Saturday mornings with fellow woodcarving enthusiasts at
the Marion County Senior Center, and quilting with the Monday Morning Cut Ups quilting
group at the Marion County Senior Center.
