Growing up in a military family was the
formative beginning to Diana's
experience of the world and its
cultures. She delighted in being
tutored at the Prado Museum in
Madrid, then returned to the States for
a B.A. in archaeology. Love of art drew
her to a successful career in
etching, but when the physical
stresses of years of printmaking
appeared, she turned full attention to
her "hobby" of painting. She
feels she is doing her finest work now,
with serene, evocative images
reflective of the early European training,
and her contemplative
nature. Recently these works of quiet
beauty have appeared in
prestigious national shows including
American Art in Miniature,
Gilcrease Museum; Masterworks 2009,
Gallery One; 35th International
Miniature Art Exhibition, Leepa-Rattner
Museum.
